The Internet of Things (IoT) is an important part of the new generation of information technology and the third wave of world information development after computers and the Internet. According to statistics, the scale of China's IoT industry reached one trillion yuan in 2019, and my country has long elevated the IoT to a strategic emerging industry.
Among China's network operators, China Mobile is currently at the forefront of IoT platform construction. China Mobile has established a dedicated IoT department and opened a dedicated IoT network for data collection terminal services. In the IoT dedicated network, there are no ordinary civilian voice calls or various civilian value-added services, which reduces many loopholes and security risks. This ensures the exclusivity, purity and security of the IoT.
The water meter was invented by British engineer Cluse in 1825. The use and production of water meters in China started late. Since British engineer Cluse invented the balanced tank water meter with real instrument characteristics in 1825, the development of water meters has a history of nearly 200 years. The use and production of water meters in China started late. In 1879, Li Hongzhang established the first water plant in Lushunkou to manage the navy. In 1883, British colonialists established the second water plant in Shanghai, and water meters began to enter China. As some coastal cities built water plants one after another, in the 20th century, the then Shanghai Guanghua Machinery Factory (now the predecessor of Shanghai Guanghua Instrument Factory) and other companies imported some parts from abroad to produce water meters. For a long time, water meters from countries such as Britain, France, Japan and Germany have always occupied the Chinese water meter industry. These water meters of different varieties and complicated specifications have brought great difficulties to the water meter maintenance of tap water companies in the future due to different standards and non-interchangeable parts.
After the liberation in 1949, with the development of urban water supply, China's water meter industry also developed accordingly. Since 1955, water supply companies in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Wuhan, Guangzhou and other cities have begun to produce water meters. In the early 1980s, the water meter industry, under the organization of the Shanghai Institute of Industrial Automation Instrumentation of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, launched a national unified design of eight-pointer and integral impeller water meters for small-caliber water meters according to the requirements of the then international standard ISO4046 for water meters. The unified design and plasticization of water meter parts have created favorable conditions for organizing the specialized production of water meters, greatly promoted the progress and development of China's water meter industry, and met the development needs of the growing urban and rural tap water industry.
